Childhood memories of the farm well house
I was inspired to think and create around the role water played in my upbringing, living on a farm in rural southern Missouri with our own spring and well (and well house), surrounded by fields of hay and grass. My father was an engineer by training and performed water quality testing for our well and for other county residents. While he passed away when I was young, my mom says I take after him not only with my height and personality, but also with my interests in the environment and my community. So in honor of these childhood memories and my father, I decided to use watercolors from the mail art kit and a pencil to create a painting of the well house, similar in style to what I might have created in elementary school.
