This piece was inspired by my childhood memories of going to the beach every summer with my grandparents.

While thinking about what I wanted to make for this project, I had a lot of emotions surrounding it. The beach (and water, obviously) are very sentimental and nostalgic for me. As a kid growing up in New England, the beach and water were a big part of my childhood. We would go to the beach all the time, even during the fall and winter. There’s nothing better than a trip to the snowy beach. My grandmother recently passed away, and we all visited the beach after her funeral as a way to honor her memory. While doing this project, I was thinking about her and all our times playing on the beach. It was a nice reminder of her.
