A short haired girl with eyes closed sits beneath the surface of a swimming pool of blue gray water under a blue paper sky. Air bubbles rise from her mouth, calm and cool.

In Texas, swimming pools are a common solace in the blinding heat of the summer. I sat at the bottom of the pool and saw the surface of the water from underneath as air formed bubbles and os in the surrounding fluid. A muted, cool world of blue. In making this project as an interpretation of the waters that made me I considered the blue of the sky in parallel with the blue of the pool in relation to my emotions in finding peace on the concrete flooring of a chlorinated substance.
