Meditation is an important self-care practice for me, especially living alone during the pandemic. I am drawn to water–the sounds and motions, the gravity-free space—I regularly dream about water and incorporate water sounds into my meditation practice. In one of my most memorable and repetitive dreams, I am on an ocean liner that capsizes, while everyone swims toward the surface in panic, I see a light on the ocean floor and realize I have an uncanny ability to see and breathe below the surface. I let myself sink to the light.
