Water is essential to all life on earth and clean water should be a right for all living things.

According to the Environmental Integrity Project report, Delaware has a higher percentage of rivers and streams affected by pollution than any other state in the United States. As long as I have lived here, there have always been warnings and advisories telling residents not to swim in them or eat the fish from them because doing so may cause cancer. The irony is that the state’s drinking water comes from the same waterways that warn the residents not to swim in or eat the fish out of. My Mail Art Project is to heighten the awareness and bring attention to the water pollution my state has experienced. In doing so, I hope to change the behaviors of residents to respect nature because what we dump will end up in the rivers and the waterways and come right back out of our taps. We are cooking with it, drinking it, and bathing in it!
