Waters moving through the San Fernando Valley – mixing ways the water once moved with ways the water was forced to move. What if we let the water go? How would our landscape be remade and how would we adjust?
I am inspired to think about how much water MAKES the landscape and MAKES life, but how the practice of controlling water has meant altering ecosystems and life ways that do not maintain a balance of living with water and land, and instead harness their energies for convenience and capitalization. This exercise encourages me to reflect on how much I know the water around me and how I care for it as it nourishes me and the landscape around me.
