Allan Morton

Collage piece exploring the political nature and politicization of the world’s most life giving resource.

Without water there is no life, the quality of our water determines the quality of our lives. In this piece I drew on my connection with water in all forms, the sacred and the mundane, and the respect water requires in the contemporary world. I have been raised in a world full of pollution from the industrial and post-industrial world, I have known the waters around my family well through fishing, boating, and learning about the world under the surface. We must look to those most connected to the waters of our lands and follow the calls by indigenous and displaced people to protect our natural fresh water sources.
