With shorelines receding, the people of Delaware are not only losing their beaches but the sea creatures are losing their homes.

Through this project it has allowed me to go in depth on Delaware’s Beaches and the negative effects that are currently happening as a result of climate change. I did not fully realize the extent that climate change had on beaches alone and with research I am able to fully understand what is happening to our beaches. With shorelines receding it affects not only Delaware and its economy, which is mainly funded through tourism, but also the sea creatures that are losing their homes. This project was a great way to introduce political art and allow me to gain insight on how to create a piece directed towards a political, social, or economic issue which would permit the creation of further works. On top of that, with this project I have learned ways to properly contact those in positions of power which is important to produce the change that I am representing in my art. I have gained a new appreciation for Delaware Beaches, more than I had before when visiting during a summer.
