This is an art collage consisting of 6 different cut out images with a description that reads “LIFE ISN’T PERFECT BUT YOUR OUTFIT CAN BE!” The first imafe is an old film photo of a child sitting on a pickup truck bed, next is a drawing of a man in a fur parka and goggles, next is a sticker of a stop sign, next are two fashionably dressed cartoon women greeting each other, and lastly a vintage drawing of a woman with the words “smartly styled” glued glued over covering her eyes.

This project was a way to present the ritual of dressing up and playing with fashion. I find that the ritual I have when it comes to playing dress up, as with many others I presume, stems back to my childhood. Whether it be me as kid in my favorite princess dress to now as an adult playing with my favorite fashion pieces, I think dressing up as very pure form of artistic self expression that allows my creativity to flow, and looking good while doing it! This process of collaging was very fun and it was a great creative meditation in giving new meaning from these old advertisements and comics I would find, which I find as a close likeness to my approach to fashion. Taking the old and making it new and my own and representation of myself.
