“I have had the honor to learn about the deep, thoughtful, and creative partnerships between University of Cincinnati faculty, staff, and regional organizations working to address pressing issues such as health disparities, childhood poverty, and housing equity. I know that they have much to teach the IA national network. Given the large, joyful groups from the University of Cincinnati who have attended past gatherings, I also know that they will serve as generous, welcoming hosts for what promises to be an energizing convening of the diverse and growing IA community as we celebrate 25 years and look towards the future.”

Erica Kohl-Arenas, Faculty Director, Imagining America

“The University of Cincinnati is excited to serve as the host institution for the 2025 Imagining America National Gathering. We are energized by the opportunity to partner with the consortium and demonstrate the university’s strategic strengths in community engaged research and experience-based learning. We believe the gathering will showcase and highlight the depth of our partnerships with local, regional, and national communities in the humanities, arts, and related disciplines, as well as providing us with the opportunity to converse with artists and public scholars from across the country about their experiences and interventions in advancing community-engaged scholarship.”

Valerio Ferme, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost of the University of Cincinnati

The Imagining America consortium (IA) brings together scholars, artists, designers, humanists, and organizers to imagine, study, and enact a more just and liberatory ‘America’ and world. Working across institutional, disciplinary, and community divides, IA strengthens and promotes public scholarship, cultural organizing, and campus change that inspires collective imagination, knowledge-making, and civic action on pressing public issues.

By dreaming and building together in public, IA creates the conditions to shift culture and transform inequitable institutional and societal structures.
